Pros and cons of Code School app for iPhone and iPad

Code School app good for

I have been trying to learn to code for a long time and now I found this wich has dozens of coding launges I am so EXITED keep up the good work
Professionally made app and videos, very helpful for when getting started with coding or just getting a little help.
This is an amazing app that shows you in incredible information through videos for you. I have learned so much through only one video. If you want to create an app I truly think this is the way to go.
Just an amazing website, with now, an amazing app ! Just miss our path advancement like in browser app :)
free aprentice help is always welcome with 5 stars. Thank you so much :)
It would be handy to see which screencasts Ive already seen, maybe by making them grayish.

Some bad moments

The menu has overlapping buttons, the videos take too long to download, only one video is downloaded at a time and theres no exercises or even an adaption for mobiles. The codeschool guys dont follow what they preach, apparently. How should I trust them now?
For me is more comfortable to use safari for learning (cause of challenges is available), this app is only for downloading videos
I was really exited for this app because I love coding on Scratch and I was excited to try Java Coding but it is just videos and you have to download them. You could just use YouTube if you wanted to learn Java instead of this app.
I have a pro account, which I can log into perfectly without problems. However the app doesnt seem to recognize my login credentials and therefore will not open. I cant possibly give the app anymore than two stars because of this. The only reason Im giving it two stars is because of how well the system works when you login on the web. As far as people being upset about having to pay for courses. You can actually create a free account on the website, and you can do much of the coursework. Having a paid, or "Pro" account gives you access to more advanced lessons, projects, assessments etc... which are actually very useful. What youre paying for, is all the work that goes into creating structured courses that are designed to teach, and reinforce the material. Is all the information here available for free on the net? Sure it is. But if you want structured courses that teach you step-by-step, and reinforces what youre learning, then this is a really good program. Theres no such thing as the perfect solution when it comes to this type of learning. But, Code Academy has a pretty good program in place, I just wish the app worked.
Cant even register an account. Doesnt give any feedback as to what the error is.
Happy to be able to access Code School videos from my phone now. Makes reviewing what Ive learned super easy - even on the subway. However, there are a number of basic features that this app should have: - the ability to delete downloaded videos. Right now I have to delete the entire app to get rid of them! - It should remember where you left off. Both the playback position and the video you had open. Right now you have to pick the track and video every single time you open the app. And thats a terrible UX. - A nice to have feature would be the ability to speed up the video playback. Sometimes they just talk too slow! Most other learning videos have this feature. And since Code School is a paid service, I dont really think this is a lot to ask.
